Charles Phillips is an independent consultant specialising in sustainable development and clean energy in Saudi Arabia. He holds a Master’s degree in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford and has worked extensively across the Middle East and Africa, with a particular focus on Saudi Arabia.

His areas of expertise include climate change and sustainability policy in the Arab Gulf States, Saudi Arabia’s giga projects, and the country’s emerging tourism and heritage sectors. In 2023 he spent four months travelling across Saudi Arabia to document ancient heritage sites and giga project developments.

Charles has an extensive network across the Kingdom spanning major projects, companies, and institutions. He works closely with senior stakeholders across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf and regularly moderates and speaks at energy and sustainability conferences in the region.

His experience includes business development and market entry, building international partnerships, communications and content creation, project management, and public speaking. He has over 30,000 followers on LinkedIn.
